Our trips calendar provides a rich variety of opportunities for pupils to participate in a wide range of cultural experiences and outdoor adventure throughout their time at Henry’s.
Day Trips and Residentials
We offer an incredible range of day trips across all departments a year groups which enrich and supplement the classroom experience. Trips in the past have included the following:
| Art | Trips to galleries, exhibitions and shows, both locally in Coventry or Birmginham, and nationally in London |
| Biology | A Level field trip to South Wales. Biology lectures at Birmingham University and the Big Quiz! |
| Chemistry | Outreach events for GCSE and A Level students at Birmingham University. Medical Insight Course at the University Hospital. |
| Classics | Day trips to Chester, Bath, the British Museum, Wroxeter and Birmingham. Latin Poetry Slam in Stratford |
| Computer Science | We have a strong link with Coventry University Computer Science Department and are involved in GCSE coding and programming trips and courses. |
| Design Technology | Vex Robotics events across the country and of course the recent trip to Kentucky for the World Championship Finals! |
| Drama | Multiple trips to performances and plays both locally (The Belgrade, The Albany) and nationally for GCSE and A Level students. |
| Economics and Business | Our link with WASPs means we visit the Ricoh Arena as guests of their Marketing and Business side of the rugbyclub. |
| English | All Year 7 pupils go to the RSC prior to Christmas for their annual trip, whilst there are many other lecture based trips and the Year 12 English Language trip to London |
| Geography | Numerous field trips, including the Rainforest Experience in Newbury for Year 8, the Stratford Field Trip for Year 9 and GCSE trip locally in Coventry. A Level trip to Slapton Sands just before Easter. |
| History | Year 7 visit Goodrich Castle, whilst Year 8 visit Baddesley Clinton for their ‘Hands on the Past’ day. |
| Law | A Level students visit the Crown Court in Birmingham and get the chance to participate in the Independent Schools’ Mock Trial Competition in January. |
| Maths | In addition to all our Maths Challenges and Competition, we |
| MFL | As you would expect the majority of our trips are in the host countries, but we also participate in outreach events and activities with the University of Warwick. |
| Music | Trip to see Wicked (a GCSE set work) in London is always a popular trip. |
| PE | There is a senior hockey tour to Bath, a Year 8 and Year 9 netball tour at Condover Hall and a Year 7 Rugby tour to Manchester. |
| Physics | The Physics Quiz Competitions at Birmingham University are always popular, along with our Sixth Form Engineering Scheme. |
| Psychology | Opportunities for both Year 12 and Year 13, visiting Twycross Zoo and the Power of the Mind Lectures |
| PRE | All Year 7 pupils visit the Singer’s Hill Synagogue in Birmingham. |
International Residentials – Exploring Culture and New Experience
