Beginning Their Learning Journey
In this section
‘Individual attention in a happy environment’ is the ethos at King Henry VIII Pre-Prep. A friendly school with small class sizes enables teachers to provide exceptional care and treat every pupil as an individual. This ensures that children gain confidence as they begin to realise their potential.
An Integral Part of our School
Pre-Prep pupils are members of one of the country’s leading independent schools. From an early age your children will share in the ambition the School has for all of its pupils; that within an ethos of care and community, our shared aspirations help assure academic and all-round success.
A Great Start
King Henry VIII Pre-Prep is the route through which many pupils begin their time with us at Coventry School Foundation. Children usually join from the September after their third birthday and progress to King Henry VIII Junior School.
Government-funded Childcare
All 3 and 4 year olds are eligible to receive up to 15 hours per week of government-funded childcare, up to a maximum of 570 hours per year. This funding is available from the start of the term following your child’s 3rd birthday.
For more information on funding and how to apply, visit our admissions pages or contact our friendly admissions team on 024 7627 1190.
An All-round Education
The School has high expectations of its pupils within the setting of a balanced academic and creative timetable. The curriculum is broad with the emphasis on pupils gaining a good understanding of the core subjects but also offering opportunities for them to develop other interests and talents. French, PE, Music, ICT and PSHE are all included within the school day and for the most part are taught by specialist teachers. Educational visits, concerts, visitors, sports days, fayres and other festival celebrations are also all part of the Pre -Prep’s exciting educational experience.
Valuing All Achievements
The School is proud of the pupils’ academic and other achievements and rewards children for endeavour, progress and achievement through consistent positive interaction. Reinforcement of commendable behaviour is further enhanced during Assemblies and Prizegiving.
An Extended Day
Out of hours supervision is available from 7:45am until 6:00pm. Aftercare and Holiday Clubs also help busy parents. These activities are run by our own staff so that even very young children can feel comfortable taking part in activities run by people they know.
Eating
Food is also very important to all of us and each day there is a choice of hot dinners. The food arrives fresh each day and there is always a vegetarian option. Healthy snacks are eaten at break times.
Holiday Clubs
A fun, structured and stimulating holiday club runs most days of the school holidays between 8:30am and 5:00pm at King Henry VIII School.
