New Chair of Governors Announced

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Ian Dunn as Chair of Governors of Bablake and King Henry VIII School. Ian will be working hard to get to know the BKHS sites and most importantly the people.

Ian said: “It is clear that there are very many things to celebrate at BKHS, great academic results, super pastoral care and a passion to develop wonderful young people. The senior leaders, teachers and support staff that I have had chance to meet so far have all been very generous in sharing their knowledge and understanding and I look forward to meeting many more of you. I will work equally hard to support them in their important task of leading the school to the brightest of futures.”

Ian grew up in South Cheshire and first came to Coventry in 1986 where he just fell in love with the place. He is an academic engineer, and graduated from Coventry University, the Universite de Lyon 1, France, Cranfield University and the Ecole Superieure d’Ingenieurs de Marseille, France.

Ian has worked at Coventry University since 1992 and has the deep honour to be Provost and Chief Academic Officer of one of the most innovative higher education providers in the country. He also serves on national and international HE advisory boards.

Ian has more than twenty years’ experience on the governing boards of local schools and currently serves on several multi academy trusts in Coventry, Warwickshire and Birmingham. Ian is a trustee of Relate Coventry and Warwickshire and have been a Justice of the Peace for Coventry and Warwickshire for twenty years.

Ian looks forward to having the opportunity to meet with students, parents, teachers, staff and other stakeholders over the coming months.

The Coventry School Foundation made an announcement on the Wednesday 19th May 2021 about the new structure for Bablake and King Henry VIII School.
