Pastoral Care – Sixth Form
In this section
Outstanding pastoral support contributes to the happiness of students at Henry’s, creating a positive, friendly atmosphere for all. We work closely with parents to ensure each young adult receives the best possible pastoral care during their time here.
Our Head of Sixth Form and Deputy Head of Sixth Form are a collaborative learning partnership with our team of Form Tutors, School Nurses, Chaplain and Learning Support Department, working together to promote our pupils’ happiness and progress.
We recognise our duty to ensure that every young person in our care receives the attention that they deserve. Students who need extra support are quickly identified by our pastoral team. From Form Tutors through to our Headmaster, we ensure there is always help at hand when our students need it.
Through small group and one-to-one study sessions, and buddying for newcomers to the Sixth Form, we do everything in our power to create an inclusive environment. Some students may also train to become mentors, should they wish and a number of our students our peer mentors for other students in the school developing leadership skills. In the Sixth Form, tutor groups are generally 12 or 13 and proactive academic monitoring is in place to identify early–and support–those students who are finding the transition from Senior School to Sixth Form challenging.
