Rugby Honours for Dan
King Henry’s rugby player Dan (Year 13) has progressed through the county system to receive the great honour of representing the Midlands in the Divisional Championships this year. With no England Counties, Dan achieved the highest level of rugby he can as an U18 rugby player which was great testament to his ability and quality. “Dan has been a phenomenal ambassador for the school through his years as a King Henry VIII School student” Director of Sport explained.
Having played at 1st XV level for the past 3 season, Dan has shone at full back, in the centre or on the wing showing his versatility. Mr Fitt stated, “Dan should be incredibly proud of what he has achieved but he must make sure that he continues to strive for more.” In his time at the school, Dan has also represented Irish Exiles and Coventry RFC (U17&U18’s) playing against Academy opposition from around the British Isles.
Some incredible players have worn a Midlands jersey and then gone onto wear a rose or their international colours whilst being members of our school community. We hope Dan can continue to strive to achieve his full potential, as with a work ethic and a desire to be better, Dan has potential to continue to achieve further accolades.
