Fantastic GCSE Results
The school has maintained its outstanding reputation for academic success with another year of excellent GCSE results.
38% of all GCSEs taken were awarded the top grades of an 9 or 8, equalling the best performance at this highest level that the school achieved last year. An amazing 58% of all grades were awarded 9, 8, 7. One in three students in Year 11 achieved at least 9 GCSE grades of 9, 8 or 7. Of particular note are students Adrian Er and Alessandro Pace who gained 9 GCSEs at grade 9 and Sukhdeep Mahil who gained an incredible 10 GCSE at grade 9.
Proud Ashlyn Kumbuwa gets the grades!
Headmaster, Jason Slack, commented, ‘This wonderful academic success is only part of the full picture of a very talented year group whose all-round education is excelling in many broader ways through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, Sport and Performing Arts. We are delighted with their achievements. This year group, and their teachers, have coped tremendously well with the changes to assessment grading and specifications in recent years.’
Recent years have seen a burgeoning and popular Sixth Form at King Henry VIII School and it looks likely to be another bumper year again as this strong cohort of GCSE students move up to the challenges of A Level on the back of these superb results.
