Song Requests for the NHS
Our Head of Drama Miss Spring has been using her artistic and musical talents to do some fundraising for NHS Charities Together. She has setup a Facebook group online which allows people to request a song to be sung if they make a donation of £2.00 through the group’s donation button. It is called ‘Song Requests for the NHS’. You can select a singer of your choice and tag them, or make an ‘open request’. You can also join in the singing yourself! Mrs Kaczur and Dr Coull have already been getting involved, and lots of staff have been making requests. Mrs Kaczur and Miss Spring have recently created their own cover of ‘A Million Dreams’.
The group has raised nearly £5,000 so far with a range of songs sung from musical numbers to pop and rap. Miss Spring, who features herself singing hits like ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ for Captain Tom Moore’s 100th birthday, and ‘Let it Go’ said “I never expected a little idea I had on the sofa over Easter to be so successful! We have had some lovely messages of gratitude from NHS workers, carers and elderly people in isolation who have felt really uplifted by the songs and the fundraising efforts.”
If you want to make a donation, support the group and listen to some superb talented singers performing your favourite songs, then check out the link here.
