Remembering the Past – VE Day at Henry’s
VE Day is a time to remember the incredible bravery and sacrafice of those who lost their lives in the Second World War. We remember those Old Coventrians in particular whose names adorn the honour board in our School Library. Lest we not forget.
The community at King Henry’s enjoyed the VE Day celebrations, taking a well-earned break from online learning to enjoy the fine weather.
Miss Mould’s art classes started preparations through the creation of some wonderful VE bunting.
You can see the great work the students completed in the pictures above – all set and ready for a social distancing VE Day party.
Whilst Year 8 Artists made some awesome artistic tributes to Colonel Tom Moore, showing real skill, talent and creativity with their work.
Meanwhile to mark the 75th anniversary of VE day, Year 9 Historians have been adapting World War II propaganda posters to reflect the current Corona crisis and the message seems pretty clear! You can see their fabulous work here below. They look so realistic!
