Outstanding A Level Results
The results at King Henry VIII School were excellent and a testament to the hard work and perseverance of the marvellous young people here, supported by their teachers and parents.
Isabelle Barham will be going to the University of Bath to study Mechanical Engineering, having achieved 4 A* grades in Geography, Maths, Further Maths, and Physics. The theme of female excellence in Science and Maths was also continued with Mia Rayner, who will read Maths at Bristol following her 4 A* and 1 A grades.
Dharma Muthalagappan, who achieved 3 A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, with an A grade in Further Maths, will go to the University of Cambridge to study Natural Sciences. Dharma, who has attended King Henry’s through his junior school years, has been balancing his academic studies alongside incredible virtuoso piano performances, having also achieved his ABRSM Piano Diploma.
Huge congratulations to our other Oxbridge candidates, who include Ben Cartwright (History and Politics at the University of Cambridge) and Adam Price (English Literature at Oxford University), achieving the required A* and A grades needed to meet their offers.
Breeya Hall from Nuneaton achieved 3 A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and History, will go to read Medicine and Surgery at Newcastle University. Breeya was the winner of the Good Fellowship Cup in June, a peer nominated award to the student who has always been “there” for everyone; always helped out or been willing to listen to problems. She will no doubt be a superb medic and is part of a cohort that includes our Heads of School Daniel Xavier and Hannah Baker.
The Headmaster Philip Dearden said “these are just a snapshot of the amazing achievements, and there are countless examples of individual students who have performed well, achieving outstanding grades. The results are a testament to the resilience and commitment, especially given the challenging context of the last three years. We are so incredibly proud of them and their outstanding contribution to Henry’s outside of the classroom. They are real ambassadors for their generation.”
A final thank you to all teaching and support staff involved in the running of examinations this year, in particular our new examinations officer Mrs Waters, who did a superb job in an unusually elongated examination series.
