Congratulations to Lauren in Year 7 who followed up her gold medal achievement in September with further medals at the British National Championships where over 12000 competitors took part.

Lauren competed in the girls red belt Individual Patterns event, the red belt Team Patterns event, and the girls red belt Team Sparring event. Lauren managed to win both the Individual Patterns and the Team Patterns, and also pick up the bronze medal in the team sparring.

This means that with the competitions she has won previously, Lauren is the reigning TAGB English champion, the TAGB British champion and the TAGB/ITF World champion for Individual Patterns.

The Team Sparring medal was a bonus because Lauren is not a specialist in that, but she showed great perseverance in one of the bouts where both her teammates were temporarily injured and she had to continue the rest of the fight by herself against the other team.
