GCSE Results Day 2021
For the fifth consecutive year GCSE results have risen at both Bablake and King Henry VIII schools. This year, over 57% of the cohort have earned grades 8/9 and more than 75% of grades awarded were 7 or above – an amazing achievement. The hard work of pupils and continued commitment of staff have resulted in fantastic GCSE results across all subjects. This builds on the great success of the schools’ record-breaking A level results announced on Tuesday (10.8.2021).
The last two years have been incredibly challenging for pupils as they have needed to adapt to new ways of working, including switching to remote learning. Pupils at both schools have embraced this new way of teaching and have consequently become more effective and versatile learners. The new-found ability to learn in a different style will be hugely beneficial as they continue their education.
Malayeka Khalid spent her summer volunteering at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire. She achieved grade 9 in all of her 11 subjects.
We are incredibly proud of all of our pupils and look forward to welcoming them back in September to start their A levels!
The continued trajectory of improving results is testament to the skills and commitment of staff at both sites. The last 18 months have been an incredible time to work in education and teachers in particular have excelled in supporting pupils to achieve the very best that they can.
This is the last time the schools will be reporting individual results, as they will join to become Bablake and King Henry VIII School (BKHS) in September.
