From King Henry’s to Rolls-Royce

Millie achieved an outstanding A*, A*, A at A Level, alongside an A in her EPQ, and has secured a highly competitive Degree Apprenticeship with Rolls-Royce.

Securing one of just four places on the Rolls-Royce Nuclear Submarine Business Management Degree Apprenticeship programme is a remarkable achievement and reflects Millie’s academic excellence, determination and ambition.

After competing against more than 1,000 applicants, Millie progressed through a rigorous selection process that included online assessments, aptitude tests and a final assessment centre in Derby, where the field was narrowed to just 80 candidates. Despite suffering a broken ankle, she successfully completed her interview and secured her place on the prestigious programme.

Over the next four years, Millie will combine university study with hands-on industry experience, spending one day each week working towards her Business Management degree and four days on rotational placements across different areas of the Rolls-Royce business. Upon completion, she will also have a guaranteed role with the company.

Interestingly, Millie was initially considering opportunities with JLR, but when she came across the Rolls-Royce programme, she simply thought, “that’s cool!” That decision has opened the door to an exceptional career opportunity with one of the world’s leading engineering companies.
